Mrs. Kearney

Academic Chemistry

1.  Keep a separate chemistry notebook.

2.  Bring a scientific calculator to class everyday.

3.  Do your homework every night.

Mrs. Kearney’s recipe for success in chemistry:

NOTES + HOMEWORK = GOOD GRADES

If not working, see #4!

4.  Extra help is available every Tuesday after school from 2:25 to 3:00pm.

5.  Lab Makeups are held every Tuesday after school from 2:25 to 3:00 pm.

(No latecomers allowed!)

6.  Missed Lab experiments must be made up within 2 weeks or a grade of zero will be automatically recorded for that assignment.

7.  Missed homeworks and quizzes (due to absence) must be made up within 2 days of the absence.

8.  Absence on the day before a test does not excuse a student from taking the test on the scheduled test day.  If the student is absent on the day of the test, they should expect to make the test up the day they return to school.

9.  If you arrive after the bell, please bring a pass, otherwise you will be sent for a tardy pass.

10.  Do not go to guidance for any appointments that are scheduled during your lab period.  Guidance appointments should be scheduled for non-lab days!  If you go to PE on a scheduled lab day, it will count as a cut and you will receive a zero for that lab.

Your grade will be determined using a percentage system

 Percent

Tests                          50 %

Quizzes                     20%

Lab Reports            20%

Homework              10%
